Considerations in Drawing The Human Figure
Course Description: Working in a Comparative (Freehand) Manner, artists will draw from a Live Nude Model, on short, medium, and long poses to exercise their figure drawing skills. Throughout the course, various topics will be discussed and employed, that pertain to effective and expressive figure drawing. Subjects addressed will include Anatomy, Structure, Gesture, Technique, Proportion, and Figure Design. Continual reference will be made to Old Master as well as Modern and Contemporary Master Drawings as this is invaluable in the learning cycle. The instructor will balance the use of his time between doing a "Working Demonstration", presenting mini Power Point Presentations, and providing personalized critique at each student's drawing board. Enrollment will be strictly limited to 12 students to ensure ample attention towards each participant. Regardless of the artist's ability level (beginner to professional) or preferred subject matter (landscape, still life, portrait, figure, abstract) this four session experience will improve the artist's draftsmanship skills within the artist's chosen genre.

Additionally in 2010, Blietz's paintings 'Clarity' and 'Pastoral Dreaming' were juried into the "2010 Contemporary Realism Biennial" exhibition held at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Recently, Blietz's work was selected, again, for inclusion in the 2012 edition of both of these Biennials with his painting 'Incline' going to the exhibition at The Charles Allis Art Museum, and 'K - A Rural Kouros' going to the Contemporary Realism Biennial at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.

Blietz received a BS from The University of Denver. He continued his art and design studies at The Harrington College of Design and finished his formal studies with four years of academic training at The School of Representational Art.
